Tall Man Style Tips

If you are a tall man measuring 6 ft or over you probably already know that there is a shortage of clothing that caters for your height. It seems manufacturers pay more attention to the shorter man, leaving it to specialist retailers to cater for taller fashion customers – and these specialist clothing items usually come with a hefty price tag!

It seems the world is against those over a certain height. You only have to cram yourself into an airplane or rental car seat to work that out. Pants, short pants and even shirts can also be hard to cram into – tall guys often have to buy larger fashion shirts as a result, but this can often mean the arms are too long causing them to blouse out unnaturally.

A tall man should avoid things like bright colors and vertical stripes. Just dress for the season and color must be universal and it all depends on how you pull it off with the rest of your look. There are many subtle ways to wear all the looks for a tall guy.

As a tall man you need to be comfortable in your clothes and with your look. If you are wearing well-fitted clothing you feel more confident and ready to take on the world, but when your cuffs are halfway up your arms or your whole body is feeling pinched by an ill-fitting shirt, you can feel self-conscious and awkward.

The most important clothing considerations for a tall man are:

  • Sufficient width in the shoulders of fashion shirts and dress shirts
  • Adequate length in pants legs and sweater and shirt sleeves
  • Enough room in the drop of the crotch to prevent pinching
  • Closely fitting jackets and shirts to prevent billowing

When it comes to choosing pants, there are many options available and as a tall man with long legs, the good news is that you can get away with them all. Slim-fitting trousers can look amazing whilst baggy cargo pants can help you to look a little shorter if this is the type of effect you are after.

Choosing designer shirts is a cinch too. If you don’t want to seem too imposing, you might want to choose shirts that are not too bold in design. A well cut jacket and a double collar shirt can look super stylish and will make sure you are noticed for your great fashion sense when you first walk into a room and not your height alone.

Man Made Diamonds and Jewelry

Jewelry designs created from man made diamonds, has enabled the ordinary person in the street to enjoy wearing a piece of this type of quality fashion jewelry.

There are many occasions, such as when on a special holiday or for a particular event in their lives, that a person will treat themselves to a piece of fashion jewelry created with these diamonds, when they would not normally be able to afford diamonds, per say.

Due to the research of Apollo Diamond in Massachusetts, it is now possible to find a man made diamond, not only in a single crystal, but also in a variety of shades of colors, from blues to black.

By nature, crystals are not completely pure. However, impurities are purposefully added to the composition so that the properties of the diamond can be controlled, thus determining the size of the carat. Apollo expanded the growth of their carats sizes over the last few years and due to the sales of man made diamonds at a substantially lower price than mined diamonds, this has had a major effect on the jewelry trade.

Because of the affordability, toughness, and close visual likeness to the mined diamond, man made diamonds have become the most geologically and economically important diamond composite.

These diamonds have their place in jewelry design when, for instance, celebrities, who have, or want, to appear at many gala and Oscar performances, want to wear diamonds but, generally cannot afford the real thing. Another time when these cheaper diamonds may be required, is when a copy of an original mined diamond is needed to be duplicated.

Fashion jewelry is normally designed using less valuable materials. These include glass, plastics and base metals as well as synthetic stones, instead of the more valuable materials such as gems and precious metals.

It has recently become fashionable for people, to wear a lot of cheap gold and diamond pieces of jewelry. A new word had been introduced into the English dictionary to cover this and that word is “bling”. Not a very complimentary description but definitely, understood by those who don’t want to follow this trend! One or two pieces probably would not be so noticeable but more than that and it can look very cheap.

Unlike ‘bling’, fashion jewelry designs of the past, had a certain style. We just have to look back in history at the fashion designers of, for instance, Coco Chanel, who greatly popularized the use of fake jewelry in her years as a fashion designer. She brought fashion jewelry to life with chunky gold chains, jeweled buttons and, also, her infamous fake string of pearls. Her designs, as those of many other famous designers of the past, are now pieces which are very collectible and demand a high monetary value. So much so, that there is a substantial secondary market for these types of jewelry designs and vintage classic pieces.

Designer Fashion Watches

A watch is an accessory that is considered as a necessity only but now as time passes by and with a number of designer fashion watches all coming out to please even the most artistic and fashion conscious individual, it evolve into a must-have for every fashionista. But how does it happen that we now have a designer fashion watch that defines who we are without actually talking about it?

Wristwatch all started with a pilot named Alberto-Santos Dumont. The history of watches started when Dumont requested Cartier to make a watch fitted for his profession so that he can use it whenever he is flying. So Cartier develops the first known wrist watch and named it after Santos.

Shortly after, the Santos watch was made available to the public. Thus since then, watchmakers began to design and improve on the quality of wristwatches until this business is not longer just for watchmakers alone, as top fashion designers also opened up their own designer fashion watches to satisfy the people’s need for a more classy and fashionable wristwatch.

From the simple functional use of a wrist watch evolved the more intricate designs of designer fashion watches.

The watch has grown to be acknowledged as an elegant and chic fashion accessory. It is not only for time reference! The role of a wrist watch became more of a fashion statement and an expression of a man’s personality.

The economic tough times and the clamor of the public for quality oriented and chic watch, the same quality as high-end watch is another reason why there are tons of watches today no longer just for time keeping. The Elegant but fun style is a major feature of the designer fashion watch that makes it highly favored by everyone.

Although man has another alternative device for telling time, the designer fashion watch consistently attracts the consumer. Isn’t it that mobile phones have clock as extra function? Man can just use his phone for time reference. But no – time pieces continue to be desired.

This is an indication that man is now very conscious of accessories. They use designer fashion watch as their accessory to show off whatever personality they possess.

The same is true with Emporio Armani Black Dial Classic Watch that shows what you are inside. The model watch exudes all the classic feature of Armani making it ideal for personal use or gift to someone that match the watch charm.

This brand of Armani is great to have because the material use for the band is stainless steel, the dial color is black and weight is 70 grams only so it is not heavy on the wrist to be uncomfortable, and the most important thing is the fact that the watch is powered by quartz movement.

Designer fashion watches is trendy and affordable, in addition you will be able to find a watch that meets your fashion sense and style. The fact that man continues to be updated in fashion, therefore the watch industry will continue to flourish.

The Rise of the Leather Man

For many years the closest things men had to everyday bags that could be used for business or leisure were briefcases, and smaller rucksacks – often with a sport theme. What have now become known as ‘Man Bags’ may have been a relatively recent development in practical fashion in the UK, although they’ve been used by men for decades in other parts of Europe e.g. Italy. The modern Man Bag is essentially a bag which is likely to have several compartments for modern communication and business essentials e.g. mobile phones.

Some of the Driving Factors for the Popularity of Man Bags in the UK

Advances in technology and the increasing miniaturisation and mobilisation of communications tools, computers, organising devices and gadgets has meant that most men are likely to be carrying one or more of these items around with them on a daily basis. The changing work arrangements and patterns i.e. more work being carried out away from a main office / home working, and a rise in communications, IT, and service based industries have also contributed to the need for men to carry more technological devises around with them, as well as the traditional paper and pens, ring binders, folders etc. Leisure time also involves the use of laptops, phones, notepad computers, iPads, MP3 players, digital cameras etc. A good sturdy, yet not too bulky, and fashionable bag with organising pockets and sections to accommodate and protect such devices has become a much more necessary item to most working and professional men. A rapid force towards globalisation aided by better and cheaper transport has also added to the need for a good all round man’s travel bag. These new breeds of bags therefore also need to be durable, secure, resistant to knocks and scuffs, provide a level of security, and yet allow fast and easy access to the organised contents.

The public use of modern ‘Man Bags’ by well know celebrities e.g. David Beckham has also stimulated demand for them. Advances in fashion have also meant that a shoulder bag / messenger bag section incorporating many different styles is now commonplace in many British men’s high street retail clothing / fashion outlets. A blurring of what is acceptable culturally for men and women to wear and use, fueled by the fashion industry and the media, and catering for real demand, has meant that for a man to carry a bag daily is now not only fashionable, but is normal and commonplace.

Leather Man Bags

There are many different styles of leather Man Bags available including messenger bags, satchels, shoulder bags, satchel-style briefcases, organiser / camera bags, travel organiser bags, and casual bags. There are also some leather mens bags which cover a number of different functions in one bag e.g. they are business, travel, computer and briefcase bags all in one, such as the Cortez traveller’s PC briefcase. Many of the different styles e.g. leather shoulder bags are available in different sizes such as large and A4 + size. Full grain leather man bags are hard wearing and keep looking good no matter how much you use them. Typically, high quality Man Bags feature many different pockets and compartments e.g. slip pockets, ‘secret’ pockets, flap pockets and zipped pockets. The anchorage points on high quality leather Man Bags are stitched and riveted for strength, shoulder straps have enough length / drop to be worn comfortably around the body and often have non-slip comfort pads. Many leather Man Bags feature special pockets / compartments for mobile phones and laptops. High quality leather Man Bags are available in a wide variety of colours including black, antique brown, mid brown (conker) tan, mocha and red.
